| Why should I pay extra for custom tailoring
if I am a perfect rack size? |
The most expensive pieces of clothing you will ever own are the ones you don't wear. Well-constructed, timeless business wear endures and should be evaluated as any other investment. The true cost of any garment is what you paid for it, divided by the number of times you wear it. A custom-tailored wardrobe selected from hundreds of the world's finest fabrics is one that you will enjoy wearing more often. R. W. FURR CLOTHIERS is a local company with the expertise to compete with any clothing in the world for style, fit, and quality of material and workmanship. We only have one quality: the absolute BEST.

| What can you do for me that I can't get from
a regular store? |
The bulk of a retail store's business comes from off the rack garments. They have money invested in inventory that they need to sell. What they refer to as "custom" are actually made-to-measure garments which will never be a priority to the store or the manufacturer. They typically send such accommodations and special customer requests to a factory where a "ready-made" garment is altered to fit the customer. On the other hand real custom clothing is our only business. The trained eye of a tailor can never be duplicated by fax or U.S. mail. We begin with the fabric you select, then cut and make your clothes specifically to fit you. In addition, we have a well located show room where you receive personal and undivided attention while making your custom clothing selections; or we can come to your office for selection and measuring. In either scenario expert advice and assistance are always available.

| What should I consider when choosing a
clothier? |
Your clothier should have a good reputation gained from the quality of his product and his way of doing business. Also consider his repertoire of fabric choices, and the style and attitude of his formal wear, suits, sport coats, pants and shirts. Look at the level of experience and expertise he has to make your clothes look and fit the way you want. Consider his aptitude for helping you put together a well-rounded, versatile wardrobe. R. W. FURR has been in the business of making men look their best since 1971. As a top-quality clothier, he cares about the image you want to project, and he understands how to help you make clothing choices to enhance that image.

| How long does it take to get measured and
pick out the fabric? How soon after that will my suit be finished? |
Established customers are usually in and out in no more than 30 minutes. For your first visit, allow about an hour. We will need about 20 minutes to take your measurements for suits and shirts. Give yourself 30 minutes to select the style and choose your fabric. Allow about 10 minutes for paperwork. Our tailors are on premises Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. When possible, make an appointment or call at least 30 minutes ahead of time so we can arrange to give you our undivided attention. It typically takes 3 to 4 weeks to complete an order.
|
| What other items do you carry? |
Knit sweaters, golf shirts, belts, socks, and fine neckwear.
|
| What brands of fabric do you carry |
We have a complete selection of the finest fabrics from all the most notable mills. Examples include Lora Piana, Dormeuil, Holland-Sherry, and Ermenegildo Zegna.
|
| What brands of clothing do you carry |
We make our own brand of clothing - R. W. FURR. Everything we sell is individually tailored for a
specific customer. The name that goes into the suit is the name of the person for whom it was made.
|
| What is your price range? |
We have "starter suits" beginning at $1800. We sell many suits in the $2300 - $2800 range. Our most "elite" suits start at about $5,000 - $7, 000. The cost of our suits will vary with the fabric you select, the number of "luxury" options you choose and your delivery requirements. The R. W. FURR shirt ranges from $175 - $420. There are some special fabrics that are more expensive. Sport coats are two-thirds the price of a suit; trousers are about one-third the price of a suit. Tuxedos are on the average $300 more than a suit because of the added expense of the silk facing. Topcoats are in the same price range as suits. Ties average $125.
|
| Where are these clothes made? |
We have two local sewing shops in which most of our clothing is made. We sew clothes exclusively for the customers of R. W. FURR Clothiers.
|
| Do I have to get re-measured every time I
pick something out? Also, my weight tends to fluctuate. What about alterations? |
Once we have your measurements on file, re-orders are a snap. All you have to do is select the cloth. Need six sea-island white shirts? Our tailors will pull your pattern and have your inventory back up in 3 to 4 weeks. With us, you'll have no problem with shipping delays. Many of our customers call in their orders by phone. Some request that we send them swatches. We will alter anything we have made for you. Alterations can usually be done in one week - depending on volume. Extensive alterations sometimes take longer.
|
| I'm uncomfortable about ordering clothing
that has not yet been made. What if I'm not completely satisfied with my purchase? |
One of our tailors will crawl on his hands and knees from our store with scissors in hand to make the corrections. Okay, that is a slight exaggeration ... but what we will do is whatever it takes to make you happy. We have been in business for 35 years because we know how to treat our customers, and we do the right thing.
