Frequenlty Asked Questions

Why should I pay extra for custom tailoring if I am a perfect rack size?

The most expensive pieces of clothing you will ever own are the ones you don’t wear. Well-constructed, timeless businesswear endures and should be evaluated as would any other investment: the true cost of any garment is what you paid for it divided by the number of wearings. A custom-tailored wardrobe selected from hundreds of the world’s finest fabrics is one that you will wear and enjoy more. We are a local company with the expertise to compete with any clothing in the world for style, fit, and quality of material and workmanship. We only have one quality: the best.

What can you do for me that I can’t get from a regular store?

The bulk of a retail store’s business comes from off the rack. They have money invested in inventory that they need to sell. Made-to-measure orders and specials will never be a priority to the store or the manufacturer, only an accommodation, and even then the work is usually sent off to a factory. On the other hand, custom clothing is our only business. The trained eye of a tailor can never be duplicated via fax or the U.S. mail. In addition, we save you time by coming right to your office for selection, fittings and alterations.

What should I consider when choosing a clothier?

Reputation, quality, length of time in business, experience, look of the suit, selection, service and philosophy. A top-quality clothier understands and cares about what you want your clothing to say about you.

How long does it take to get measured and pick out the fabric? How soon after that will my suit be finished?

Established customers are usually in and out in no more than 30 minutes. For your first visit, allow about an hour: 20 minutes to take measurements for suits and shirts; 30 minutes to select the style and choose the fabric; and about 10 minutes for paperwork. Our tailors are on premises Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. When possible, call 30 minutes ahead of time so a showroom will be available upon your arrival. It usually takes 3 to 4 weeks to complete an order.

What brands do you carry?

Everything we carry is individually tailored for a specific customer. The name that goes into the suit is the name of the person for whom it was made

Where are these clothes made?

Every custom suit, shirt, jacket, and trouser that we sell is cut right at our 3,750 square -foot facility on the northwest corner of Lovers Lane and Inwood Road in Dallas, Texas. The building includes two showrooms.

Do I have to get re-measured every time I pick something out? Also, my weight tends to fluctuate. What about alterations?

Once we have your measurements on file, re-orders are a snap. All you have to do is select the cloth. Need six sea-island white shirts? Our tailors will pull your pattern and have your inventory back up in 3 to 4 weeks. With us, you’ll have no problem with shipping delays. Many of our customers call in their orders by phone or request swatches be sent out-of-state. We will alter anything we have made for you in one week. Outside alterations sometimes take longer, depending on current volume.

I‘m uncomfortable about ordering clothing that has not yet been made. What if I’m not completely satisfied with my purchase?

One of our tailors will crawl on his hands and knees from our store with scissors in hand to make the corrections. Okay, that is a slight exaggeration … but what we will do is whatever it takes to make you happy. We have been in business for nearly 50 years because we know how to treat our customers and we do the right thing.

What other items do you carry?

Knit sweaters, golf shirts, belts, socks, and fine neckwear.
